The exhibitor experience with Jotun

Jotun has been a familiar face at Nor-Shipping since we swung open our doors 55 years ago. The company employs around 10,000 employees and is present in more than 100 countries, and Jotun has evolved to establish either strong or leading positions in the worldwide decorative paints, protective, marine, and powder coatings segments.

At home in Sandefjord, Norway, Jotun is a true local hero – the company has a strong footprint. The same can be said within shipping. This week we have spoken to Siri Moldestad Sanna, Global Customer Engagement Manager, Jotun Performance Coatings, to get insights into Jotun’s Nor-Shipping experience.

How was your Nor-Shipping 2019 experience?

Our Nor-Shipping 2019 experience was as good as we hoped it would be. In fact, it was even better than expected. Nor-Shipping consistently proves itself to be one of the best arenas for the shipping industry – a place where key stakeholders meet, share knowledge and do business, as well as achieving better insight of the global market. Visitors and exhibitors take home new experiences and new ideas, gaining a greater understanding of the market and how to provide and achieve better solutions for their businesses.

Nor-Shipping is a crucial event, you just have to be there. If your goal is to be relevant in this market place, you can’t afford not to be.

What was your own personal highlight from the week?

It is impossible to pick only one highlight… the Nor-Shipping week offers so many. But the Ship of the Year award at the Norwegian pavilion is worth mentioning, as is the opening conference, the closing event, and (of course) seeing all the business conversations taking place. Being part of this professional community where everybody provides building blocks for success on the ocean – focused on business, innovations and a healthy financial and sustainable future – makes one proud.

Why is Nor-Shipping important to you and your business?

Nor-Shipping is a crucial event, you just have to be there. If your goal is to be relevant in this market place, you can’t afford not to be. The insights you can access over the week are critically important for your future business. A majority of the shipping industry is present – they expect to meet you there. This is a fantastic showcase, giving you a unique opportunity to display your contribution to the industry.

Why did you feel it was important to sign up for Nor-Shipping 2021 as early as possible?

We signed up early to ensure we got the best stand allocation to display our message.

What are you most looking forward to at the next Nor-Shipping?

We always look forward to meeting business people and our global customer base, proudly showcasing our own contribution to the marketplace.
