Anders Fogh Rasmussen to map new geopolitical landscape at Nor-Shipping 2022

Rasmussen, former Secretary General of NATO and Prime Minister of Denmark, will take the stage on Nor-Shipping’s first day to deliver unique insights on the shifting geopolitical landscape, its impact on ocean business, and the potential risks and rewards looming on the horizon. It is, organisers note, a unique opportunity to access “big picture” insights from one of the world’s foremost statesmen.

From complexity to clarity

“There’s only a handful of people that can offer the high-level global perspectives of Anders Fogh Rasmussen,” comments Knut Erik Dahle, Nor-Shipping Head of Conference and Event. “His experience on the biggest political stages of all gives him a capacity to understand an increasingly challenging world, interpreting complex developments, conflicts and relationships into a clear narrative, with truly valuable takeaways.

“He is exactly the calibre of speaker our C-level conference audience want to connect with – helping them face the future with a new level of knowledge, empowering clear strategic direction. This is the epitome of Ocean Leadership, and we’re delighted to welcome this highly respected figure to ‘Your Arena for Ocean Solutions’.”

Money, People, Power

The event, Nor-Shipping’s opening conference, will see around 800 international decision makers gathering at Nova Studios in Lillestrøm (part of the overall 22,500 sq meters exhibition complex).

Three themed sessions have been tailored to deliver optimal value for the audience, with individual focuses on how Money, People and Power will define future success. All content will support the overall Nor-Shipping theme of taking positive business #ACTION within our crucially important ocean space.

Platform for progress

“The content is, of course, critical here,” continues Dahle. “But it’s also imperative to highlight that this is probably the first time since the pandemic that we can gather an audience of this stature in one place, at one time. That is a truly powerful networking, knowledge building and business development opportunity for all our attendees.

“As we look to the future, which Mr Rasmussen will be doing, we need to see an increased level of collaboration and cooperation to rise to the challenges facing us. As such, arenas like the Ocean Leadership Conference are arguably more important as platforms for progress than ever before. It’ll be fantastic to welcome everyone to Norway once again.”

Bringing the industry together

International travel to Norway is now open and all national coronavirus restrictions have been lifted. As such, some 50,000 participants are expected at the first ever winter Nor-Shipping, with close to 900 companies, from around 60 countries, showcasing the very latest innovations, services and expertise.

An extensive programme of activity is being finalised, with business events, networking and knowledge sharing taking place across Oslo and nearby Lillestrøm. The socialising hub for ocean decision makers will move to the Norwegian capital’s premier waterfront location with ‘After Work at Aker Brygge’. Further speakers at the Ocean Leadership Conference will be announced soon.

Anders Fogh Rasmussen completed his role as Secretary General of NATO in 2014. He has since gone on to establish a successful consultancy, Rasmussen Global, helping democratic governments and private businesses navigate complex global political, diplomatic and commercial issues.
