The grand opening of Nor-Shipping will take place Monday 10 January 2022, hosted by the mayor of Oslo at Oslo City Hall.
The opening ceremony in 2019 was held in the majestic main hall, where it also will be held in 2021, and focused on young entrepreneurs, next generation ships, women in shipping and ocean opportunities. The winners of the Nor-Shipping Young Entrepreneur Award and Next Generation Ship Award were also revealed at the ceremony.

The prominent guestlist included His Majesty King Harald of Norway, Minister of Trade Torbjørn Røe Isaksen, International government officials, delegate from the UN, Ambassadors, top CEO`s, startups and maritime professionals.

The Mayor of Oslo, Marianne Borgen, was the official host of the ceremony, with Nor-Shipping’s Head of Sustainability and Technology Silje Bareksten alongside Per Martin Tanggaard, Nor-Shipping Director, leading proceedings from the stage. Norwegian Minister of Trade and Industry Torbjørn Røe Isaksen delivered one of the keynote speeches, while global charity Mercy Ships detailed its work helping and healing those in need.
Speakers highlighted ocean opportunities and challenges, before an exclusive drinks reception. Music on the day was provided by upcoming Norwegian singing star Emma Steinbakken.
A networking reception followed immediately afterward the main ceremony.
